A rapidly growing tech company relocating to larger Bengaluru headquarters engaged Crosby to design 18,000 square feet accommodating 150 employees while projecting innovation and employee-centric culture. The brief emphasized openness, collaboration, employee wellness, and sophisticated contemporary aesthetic attracting top tech talent in Bengaluru's competitive market.

Spatial Strategy: Open Yet Focused The floor plan employs 70% open workstations, 20% meeting/collaboration spaces, and 10% support functions (pantry, wellness room, storage). This ratio reflects modern workplace trends while acknowledging that focused work still requires adequate individual space. Workstations cluster in neighborhoods of 12-15 employees, creating team cohesion without excessive density. Clear circulation paths and sight lines maintain openness while acoustic treatments prevent noise disruption.

Workstation Design: Ergonomic Intelligence Custom height-adjustable desks with integrated cable management accommodate sit-stand working. Each position includes ergonomic task chair, personal storage pedestal, and acoustic privacy screen. The modular system allows reconfiguration as team structures evolve—critical flexibility for fast-growing tech companies where organizational changes happen frequently.

Meeting Spaces: Variety of Collaboration Multiple meeting room types serve different needs: formal conference room (20 people), medium rooms (6-8 people), small huddle rooms (2-4 people), and informal collaboration zones with lounge furniture. Each formal meeting room includes video conferencing equipment, wireless presentation systems, and acoustic treatment ensuring clear audio—essential for distributed teams common in tech industry.

Collaborative Breakout Zone

Breakout Zones: Structured Informality Informal collaboration areas feature residential-style furniture (sofas, armchairs, coffee tables) creating comfortable spaces for spontaneous discussions, casual meetings, or change-of-scenery work. These zones include whiteboards, mobile screens, and power outlets supporting impromptu work sessions. Positioning near pantry creates natural gathering points encouraging cross-team interaction.

Lighting: Natural Light Maximization Floor-to-ceiling windows provide abundant natural light along building perimeter. Interior zones receive daylight through glass-partitioned meeting rooms and high clerestory windows maintaining openness. Automated shading systems manage glare and heat gain while preserving views. Supplementary LED lighting with daylight sensors reduces energy consumption by adjusting artificial light based on available natural light.
